As Superintendent Dr. Michael Bregy announced last Thursday, Jan. 4, Christopher Regan has left his position as House B assistant principal to be the interim principal at Beverly Vista (BV).
In a district-wide email, Bregy addressed the controversy surrounding the relocation, as this change happens as the Beverly Hills Police Department is investigating a sexual assault case at BV, resulting in Principal Christian Fuhrer and Assistant Principal Alyssa Para being put on administrative leave.
“I absolutely understand that the uncertainty around the situation may be upsetting to staff, parents, students and the broader Beverly Vista community. Making certain that the Beverly Vista interim leadership team is ready to offer support and stability during this time is at the forefront of our minds,” Bregy said in the email.
On such short notice, Regan’s duties, which include ASB and senior activity coordinator, will be overseen by Principal Mark Mead, in addition to his own commitments.
“It makes it very difficult on teachers, kids and everyone, so we would definitely like to get someone to come in because we don’t know how long the interim is,” Mead said.
