Former social studies teacher Drew Stewart became the interim assistant principal for House B on Monday, Jan. 29, after arriving to the district in August. With 14 years of teaching history, geography, ASB and coaching soccer, Stewart is excited to assume the position after Chris Regan’s departure to Beverly Vista Elementary School.
“I certainly have a lot to learn, but I look forward to building my capacity to help Beverly. There are many common themes that I have heard from the student body in my time here that I would hope to help address, and I will do my very best to do so. I also look very much forward to working with my team in House B, as I know from my time as a teacher how wonderful these educators are,” Stewart said.
Stewart completed an administrative program and is currently filing the paperwork to activate the credential. This is Stewart’s first time in an administrative position.
“I want to finish the year by getting to know the needs of our students, and genuinely make an effort to enact measurable positive change for House B, and the student body as a whole,” Stewart said. “I look forward to working with all student activities groups to better the experience for all stakeholders on this campus. Additionally, I hope to be a good listener for the students that need to be heard, no matter how comfortable they may or may not be with speaking up.”
