On the second week back at school, Normans engaged in a week full of color, treats, and spirit to celebrate their return.
The Week of Welcome kicked off with brat Day in honor of Charli XCX’s album. Students were encouraged to wear green in order to receive a caramel apple lollipop during lunch as ASB played songs from the highly popular release, such as “Apple” and “360.”
“I participated extensively in spirit week,” senior Tali Goldkorn said. “The first day, I wore a green scrunchie and a green shirt.”
Tuesday’s Sunglasses Day fit the hot weather perfectly. Students decked out in their favorite pair of sunglasses. In the middle of the week, it was Minion Day— and if students wore yellow, they could get a banana during nutrition from ASB as a reward.
“I stole my grandpa’s suspenders and I flipped my yellow shirt inside out and I looked like a minion,” Goldkorn said. “I walked around the school wielding a banana.”
Thursday was the perfect chance to cool off from the hot weather with Ice Cream Sandwich Day. Bowls of ice cream were offered to students who brought cookies to assemble an ice cream sandwich. Participants had a tasty day at school.
“I brought cookies for everyone in the class so they could partake,” Goldkorn said.
Friday concluded spirit week with Pajama Day, which is always a favorite. Students wore their PJs to school to end the second week of school.
“I enjoyed the effort at spirit week,” Goldkorn said.
