Gov. Brown declares drought emergency

Marguerite Alberts, spotlight editor

Since last week’s article, Gov. Jerry Brown has officially declared a state-wide drought emergency. The drought is the worst California has had since the recorded history of droughts. Not only can  the drought have massive physical effects such as dry land and disastrous fires, it will largely affect California’s economy. Potentially, the agricultural industry will suffer largely due to diminished crop returns caused by little water.
