Madrigals performed at the Beverly Hills Centennial Celebration at the Saban Theatre on Wilshire Blvd. on Jan. 28.
The group was originally supposed to perform three songs including “Beverly Hills” by Weezer and “Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What a Wonderful World” by Iz Kamakawiwoʻole; however, the third song, Elton John’s “Yellow Brick Road,” was cut due to time restraints. Vocal teacher Ethan Smith accompanied the group on the electric ukelele during their singing of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.”
Although disappointed by the cut of the third song, members of Madrigals were pleased with how the concert went.
“I think we were really energetic and we really enjoyed the songs we were singing,” senior Ellie Dubin said.
From April 3 through April 6, Madrigals will be participating in the Heritage Festival Competition in Chicago.
