Sugarfina: Beverly Hills’ sweetest spot

Juliette Deutsch, social media director

Braden Bochner, staff writer

Sugarfina is not your typical candy store. Located near Rodeo Drive, Sugarfina joins the ranks of well known gourmet chocolatiers in Beverly Hills, such as Vosges and K Chocolatiers. Self-proclaimed sugar addicts Rosie O’Neill and Josh Resnick began Sugarfina as an e-commerce store. After receiving orders from customers across the country, the couple opened their first brick and mortar store this past December in the heart of Beverly Hills.

With the storefront decorated in a classic Tiffany blue and crisp white color scheme, the modern and spacious boutique reflects a jewelry store and is the epitome of a gourmet candy boutique. Sugarfina offers a variety of traditional candy, created with exotic ingredients and unique flavors. The sweets can range from chocolate caramels covered in 24 karat-gold leaves, to gummies infused with liquor.

What sets Sugarfina apart from other any other candy store is the packaging. Known for its recreation of a Japanese bento-box, Sugarfina branded and developed its own packaging candy box designs. Upon their purchase of candy, customers are given the opportunity to select which box they want their candy to be packaged in. The ultimate candy gift includes anywhere from four to eight plastic acrylic cubes filled with sweets of your choice.

One of our favorite products was the Caramel Crush bento box. Filled with caramels dipped in unique flavors such as Matcha Green Tea, Fuji Apple and Pumpkin Pie, this bento box is sure to make any caramel lover happy. If gummy candy is more up your alley, we recommend the Gummy Love bento box, which samples treats such as Sugar Lips, Apple Frogs and Sugarfina’s first and most iconic product: Champagne Bears. These gummy bears infused with bubbly champagne are a must. Candies are also available in individual packages, ranging anywhere from $2.50 to $8.

For Valentine’s Day, Sugarfina is offering love-themed gift sets of their signature candies, such as the Pucker Up ($25), which includes a combination of heart and lip shaped gummies, as well as caramels. With a little something for everybody, Sugarfina is heaven for candy connoisseurs and foodies alike.
