Varsity baseball improved their overall record to 3-2 after defeating Gabrelino in a non-league game at La Cienega Park on Wednesday, March 14.
The team won 9-1, with a standout performance by Adrian Spitz, who had two triples and four RBIs.
Right fielder Madison Moore singled out other exemplary players.
“[Shortstop] Nick Reskin made a few nice fielding plays and Oliver Yi pitched really well,” Moore said.
Centerfielder Gabe Laemmle is pleased with the way the team is progressing and feels that they have a realistic chance of making CIF.
“Jake Freud was robbed of an inside-the-park home run by the outstretched glove of the centerfielder,” Laemmle added.
Moore also intimated that the team’s performance on Wednesday was indicative of improvement of hitting and fielding, areas that the team had previously struggled with. They look to continue this trend on Thursday, March 15 in a home game against Pacifica Christian. Results were not available as of press time.
After a double header on Saturday, the Normans face Ocean League rival Culver City twice next week.
