On Thursday, March 29, track competed in an at-home meet against Santa Monica High School. Both the boys’ freshman/sophomore and varsity won, continuing their undefeated streak, while both girls’ freshman/sophomore and varsity lost, with this meet being their only defeat thus far into the season.
Track has been preparing for their invitational meets, where the outcomes of the meets determine the team’s standing in the league. Through various workouts, the team is working on improving their running times.
“Every day we have a certain workout that our coach gives us and I work hard to do them efficiently. I trust that these workouts will help me get better,” junior Ethan Plante said.
With the biggest competition being against Culver City, track hopes to work harder and maintain its successful standing.
“Track is difficult, but as we practice every day we can improve a lot,” junior Marisa Rothman said.
The team’s next meet, an invitational against Arcadia, will be held on April 6 and 7.
