The girls varsity tennis team had a successful Tuesday this week with a series of victorious scrimmages against Harvard Westlake.
This a positive start for the varsity team, who made it to the CIF semifinals last year and didn’t get much farther. The success of these practice games was a surprise to the team, as the 7-5 win was “unexpected.”
“When we got there our team looked very unorganized and I personally didn’t think we were going to win,” sophomore Lolita Gorbacheva said. “But as I watched the matches around me, I saw that every girl was trying her best and working so hard. It’s amazing to see how my partners that I’ve been training with for about a month are actually turning out to be very good.”
The varsity team’s next game is against Pacific Palisades on Sept. 9.
