Griddle Café’s scrumptious dishes delight taste buds

Hollywood’s Griddle Café is something like Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory — a magical land of “pure imagination” that “takes a sunrise, sprinkles it with dew, covers it in chocolate and a miracle or two.” It’s a world where pancakes bigger than customers’ heads sizzle in frying pans, where French toast smothered in chocolate chip cookie pieces, peanut butter or bananas turn golden brown and where fluffy eggs and savory potatoes pile high on plates. However, you don’t need a Wonkavator (Wonka’s elevator) or the Wonkatania (Wonka’s boat) to access these goodies.  All your wildest dreams are located at 7916 Sunset Blvd.
The Griddle Café is perhaps best known for its wide selection of breakfast foods. The restaurant offers delectable French toast in a variety of flavors. Peanut butter fans should try the Peanut Bubba French Toast covered in peanut buttery goodness, while cookie lovers should sample the Chocolate Chip Cookie Crusted French Toast with cookie bits baked both inside and outside the dish. Nutella fans should order the Addicted to Noisella French Toast, a warm, gooey, feel-good food with tons of chocolate spread. Enormous pancakes are also popular favorites at this trendy restaurant. The Red Velvet Pancake and the ‘Tis The Season Pancake (with a pumpkin filling) are guaranteed to make taste buds everywhere sing. All of these dishes come topped off with a dollop of fresh whipped cream.
“This place has the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten in my entire life,” junior Alexandra Aftalion gushes. “I’ve never been disappointed any time I’ve been there. ‘Tis the Season was delicious and the Noisella French Toast was heaven in my mouth.”
Omelettes and scrambles are also tasty meal choices. The Omelette Pomodoro, which has tomato, basil and parmesan, is a great choice for breakfast. The Muscle Bound Scramble mixes egg whites with spinach, tomatoes, onions and meat (turkey, ham or chicken) for a delightful combination.
The café also offers salads, tacos, burgers and sandwiches to halt customers’ hunger pains and to satisfy their stomachs.
The Griddle Café has a friendly, fun ambiance. The waiters, who usually wear a selection of backward baseball caps, are cheerful and helpful. The kitchen is in plain sight of  customers, so it’s possible to view food being cooked while waiting. Customers can sit at the counter on swinging stools or at booths and tables. If the spot is available, customers have the option of sitting in a private room towards the back of the restaurant.
Journeying to the Griddle is like embarking on a magical treasure hunt. Although an “X” does not mark the spot, the Griddle Café’s food sure hits the spot. Eat up!

Probably the best photo on the site, so far.
