Girls volleyball conquered by Culver City

The girls varsity volleyball team was defeated by the Culver City High School Centaurs in three games on Oct. 17.
“I think we worked hard, but we made too many unforced errors and we didn’t execute what we had worked on in practice, [like] blocking and making smart shots,” opposite Paige Dubelko said.
The match was characterized more by what the Centaurs did right than what the Normans did wrong, according to outside hitter Daisy Abrams.
“They rarely made any mistakes and saw the weaknesses and holes in our defense, and were able to use that to their advantage,” Abrams said.
Despite the tough loss, the Normans squad plans to come back strong for the next game.
“[We will] continue to work hard in practice and implement our strategies and techniques into games,” Dubelko said.
Girls varsity volleyball’s next game is at home on Oct. 21 against El Segundo.
