ROP director Cindy Dubin will host an event to highlight the technical education teachers and classes, hoping to foster parental support for these important offerings and clubs tonight, Dec. 4.
“Communicating directly with our parents is critical right now in the face of the potential and major funding challenges that our district will face if these programs lose their LA County funding, as is predicted to be the case for next year,” Dubin said.
Parents will learn more about what is planned for the DECA business club and its upcoming regional, state and potential national competition opportunities. The meeting will also include information on the SkillsUSA upcoming competitions that KBEV, Culinary Arts and Service Learning students will be participating in.
“These courses are all part of career pathways in which students can find their passion and shine in high school, college and/or the working world,” Dubin said.
In addition, ROP will have its first Bake-Off featuring homemade baked goods, which will be on display for tasting and voting at the beginning of the evening.
