Beverly Hills Model United Nations (BHMUN) participated at a competition at Gahr High School on Saturday, March 21, where they competed against 15 other schools.
Junior Mishelle Arakelian and freshman Jonathan Artal both received an award of Outstanding; and sophomore’s Yunchao Zhang, Max Yera, Jordan Grode, Hwanhee Choi and Nicole Mashoudy were awarded a Commendation.
Arakelian spoke about the level of competition at this conference, as well as her feelings on the outcome.
“It felt extremely rewarding, my partner and I put in a little of time and energy in preperation,” Arakelian said. “Since we were in an advanced committee, there was a higher level of debate and the tension in the competition grew as the day went by.”
MUN’s next competition will be the University of Southern California MUN on April 24 to the 26.
