The girls varsity water polo team lost to Torrance High School 10-3 during a home game on Thursday, Jan. 18.
Even though the team lost, they learned which techniques worked during the game and what didn’t.
“We are like a family and bond really well, but some things we need to improve on are communication with each other in the water and listening to our coaches more,” captain Jean Park said.
The team beat Torrance before, but this year they only have a lack of upperclassmen on the team.
“Since Jean and I learned from the upperclassman in past years, we are trying to implement the techniques that they taught us into the lower grades,” set defense Heidi Jung said.
The team still has high hopes for their next home game against Culver City High School on Jan. 22.
“In the meantime, we will be working on passing and shooting so our goalies can get up and block the ball from the opposing team, so then we can be ready for the next game,” Park said.
