On Wednesday, April 16, the annual art show was hosted in the media center from 4:00PM–6:00PM by art teacher Mr. Michael Federman. All the artists from AP drawing, AP 2D design, graphic design, photography and art foundation got to showcase their talent and hard work throughout the year.
The venue was set up with walls and tables displaying the diverse styles of art from drawings, paintings, photography, 2D design, sculptures and a screening for animations. Guests could enjoy refreshments while walking around, along with Orchestra performing classical music, further immersing visitors in the exhibition.
“I really enjoyed the art pieces in the show because they each told a story and were unique —- they felt personal and expressive,” junior Zoe Miller said.
The reception invited not just students and faculty, but family to admire the impressive displays, which Mr. Federman, who spent the past few weeks orchestrating the art show, believes it is the most rewarding part.
“Letting everybody see what the kids have been doing and how awesome they are is what it’s all about,” Mr. Federman said.
The evening was a celebration of creativity and the dedication that goes into our art programs. Mr. Federman emphasized that the showcase’s main purpose is to encourage aspiring artists to keep creating and build confidence that will stick with them after they graduate:
“It helps build a sense of confidence and a sense of identity; there are so many different ways that you can create, make a message, and voice yourself,” Mr. Federman explained.
