On Wednesday night, April 23, Beverly’s varsity boys lacrosse team played their final game of this year’s season against La Canada High School. The game took place from 7.30-9.00 pm at La Canada’s home field. The team fought hard, but unfortunately the score was 18-0 with La Canada winning. Even though the score wasn’t on their side, the team left the field with their pride and spirit.
Led by head Coach Ryan Noorvash, the Normans built a team, a brotherhood and a lot of memories they will cherish for the rest of their lives. The roster this year includes Aaron Ebrahimian, Daniel Nikesfat, Dara Momeni, Eilai Messica, Eliyahu Fard, Julian Medwin, Kyle Neman, Leo Feldman, Matt Ulrick Flores, Noah Cohn, Oscar Landau, Ryan Hakim, Ramzi Nizam, Ohad Levi, Nate Schwartz, and Steve Carmona. Captains Julian Medwin and Steve Carmona.
Senior players agreed that the skills and lessons they learned from playing lacrosse were important outside of the sport. “The collaborative skills that Coach Ryan has taught the whole team is definitely something that will stick for life.” said Cohn.
When the game was over, the team decided not to focus on the loss. Instead, they headed to In-N-Out to celebrate the season and all the memories that they have created during their time as a team. This was the last time many plays will experience this tradition.
Senior Neman, who joined lacrosse his sophomore year, said, “I really enjoyed playing lacrosse. Eli and Julian got me to play, and it was one of the best decisions of my life.”
Nine seniors will be graduating this year, leaving behind a legacy and a foundation for younger players to follow in their footsteps.
Even though the final game wasn’t what many players wished for, the team ended their season with pride, connections and memories that will follow them well beyond high school.
