May 13—ASB hosted a “Roaring 20s” themed senior prom at City Club Los Angeles in Downtown LA. Students walked through golden curtains to the entrance of the venue, where students were introduced to games like poker, blackjack, roulette, and craps.
As students started to fill the room, many students started to eat dinner and then moved to the dance floor.
“The food was great, as well as the vibe on the dance floor after.” senior Daniel Farzadmehr said.
This year’s prom was inspired by the movie The Great Gatsby. Chaperones Mr. Aaron Roberts, Ms. Susie Fox, Mr. Nickolas Henggeler, Mr. Drew Stewart, Mr. Justin Klotzle, Ms. Iliana Medina, Mr. John Castle, and Mr. Phil Chang were there to watch over the students and make sure everything went smoothly.
“I thought this year’s prom was great in terms of the five proms I’ve done. I thought that this one was probably the nicest in terms of the venue and just overall, everything that we had inside of the prom, all of the centerpieces, all of the, like, photo op moments in there. I thought the food was great. I thought the DJ was great,” ASB Director Mr. Henggeler said
The prom lasted from 7 to 10 pm. The venue featured a dance floor, a DJ, food for students, a photo booth, a 360 boomerang station and a movie theater room playing “The Great Gatsby.” There was a big “BHHS 2025” sign for students to take pictures.
“This year’s prom looked way better than I expected,” senior Rubens Romagna-Daude said.
Later in the night, there was a vote for prom king and queen—Remy Javidzad and Chloe Emrani were announced. They danced on the dance floor to “Young and Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey.
People thought prom was one of the best events ASB has hosted this year.
“I think ASB did a wonderful job with the venue. The view was wonderful and really added to the ambiance of the night!” Jacob Treiman said.
Overall, this year’s “Roaring 20s” prom was a great success. ASB pulled off an event that many seniors will never forget. It was a great way for many seniors to finish off the school year.
