For its work completed in the 2012-13, the print edition of Highlights earned an All American rating from the National Scholastic Press Association. This is the first All American rating since the paper underwent a change in advisership in 2011. The previous year’s paper earned a rating of First Class.
The paper earned marks of distinction in the following categories: Coverage and Content; Writing and Editing; Photos, Art & Graphics; and Layout & Design.
Editors-in-chief of the 2012-13 paper were Ryan Feinberg (fall semester) and Julia Waldow (fall and spring semester). Advisers of the 2012-13 paper were Gaby Herbst and Katie Murray.
