The Hills Have Eyes (1/13-1/17)

Every week, we speak to students about what is going on in their lives inside and outside Beverly.

What’s the most interesting thing about you?

“I just wrote an essay about this. I am a politically-oppressed Mongolian. I wake up every morning knowing my fellow countrymen are being oppressed by the Mongolian government.”

Why are you eating baby food?

“Because it’s delicious. This is so good… They’re so good. I don’t know what to do with myself.”

So what’s the inspiration for the hair?

“I wanted a big change. I wanted it to be lighter, you know, it’s second semester. New year, new me… less stress. So my hair is lighter now, and that’s just symbolic of all the other things that are getting light than my burdens, you know [laughs]. And, uh, I wanted to get dark… somewhat.”

You wanted it to be light and dark?

“Yes, yes, light and dark!”

What’s the story with the shirt?

“Well, sometimes I have a low day like today and my ‘life’ will go pretty far down. But it fluctuates depending on my mood.”

It looks pretty bad right now.

“Yeah, I didn’t have that much fun in AP Physics lab.”

What’s the most interesting thing that’s happened to you in the past week?

“I got tendonitis.”

How did you get it?

Dancing what?

“I was rehearsing for a competition.”

What competition?

Youth America Grand Prix. It’s a ballet competition.”
