Ten students were recognized for their recent achievements inside and outside of the classroom during the PTSA meeting on Jan. 9. Beverly is introducing this program to recognize students who receive nominations from their teachers.
Each month, two students from any grade will be chosen as Outstanding Model Citizens. In addition, two students from each grade, eight students total, will be selected as Star Students.
The Outstanding Model Citizens for January 2015 are senior Daniel Newman and junior Deborah Lee. The January 2015 Star Students are seniors Daniel Davis and Cory Anne Roberts, juniors Danni Jo Martincak and Tristan McIntyre, sophomores Priscilla Binafard and Benjamin Heller and freshmen Hunter Trost and Suhee Jin.
Newman described the actions he took that led him to be considered for the Outstanding Model Citizen award.
“During the bomb threat, I did everything I could to alleviate the stress on staff, students, and parents by running papers, helping with attendance, and consoling concerned parents,” Newman said. “I think this program is a great way to recognize students for their effort and honoring these students at the PTA meeting is a good way to remind the PTA what their dollars are going towards.”
Please email House A assistant principal Renee Cobb at [email protected] if you have any questions about the awards.
Congratulations to this month’s recipients!
