The School Board recently decided to temporarily table the construction plans at Beverly in order to focus financial resources on completing the construction at Horace Mann, the first phase of construction at El Rodeo and some minor repairs at Beverly Vista. The money will also be diverted toward finishing the designs of Hawthorne, El Rodeo and Beverly.
Contrary to much of the past fervor and argument, Beverly students did not start the second semester in portable classrooms and might not experience these cottages during their high school years.
“As of now, there won’t be construction at BHHS and we won’t be moving into portables,” Student Board Member senior Shawn Ahdout said.
Although the designs and upgrades are still on the horizon, there are currently no concrete plans to begin any sort of major renovation project.
As of right now, students will continue learning in classrooms that have rested in the same spot for years.
Due to lack of funds, Beverly construction postponed
