For the second annual Wish Week on Jan. 30 to Feb. 3, the student body united to help make 5-year-old Leighton Kaba’s wish to go to Disneyland come true.
To generate spirit among the community, ASB planned a week full of events. On Monday, Jan. 30, an Tuesday, Jan. 31, there were multiple dodgeball competitions at the front lawn during lunch. On Wednesday, Feb. 1, there as a staff karaoke during lunch at the second floor patio. On Thursday, Feb. 2, ASB held a student talent show at the Salter Family Theater from 5 to 7 p.m. On Friday, Feb. 3, due to the rain, the pep rally was canceled, but spirit remained high for the Beverly-Samo basketball matchup. Kaba and her family attended the game, warming the hearts of the students who were there.
All efforts rendered themselves successful as students surpassed the goal of $7,500 by raising $7,704 for the Make a Wish Foundation.
