It’s the final lap on the road to graduation and seniors are savoring their last few weeks as high school students. After AP exams and prom, seniors will brave a week of finals beginning Monday, May 20, culminating with senior checkout on Thursday, May 23. Senior checkout is then followed by the Grad Bash celebration at Universal Studios Hollywood.
To host the after-hours event, the Universal Studios park will be open exclusively for seniors, lasting from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. This all-night celebration will feature a special performance by internationally acclaimed electronic music artist DJ Marshmello, along with other “dance parties throughout the park hosted by radio station DJs.”
Senior Class President Wesley Wu is looking forward to commemorate his accomplishments with his peers at the Grad Bash.
“I’m super excited for Grad Night because it’s the day after our last high school finals. I can finally celebrate with all my friends all the hard work we put in these past four years in studying for standardized tests and finishing college applications,” Wu said.
Senior Julia Yaris is particularly excited to see DJ Marshmello live.
“It’s going to be an amazing experience. We get to be all together one last time, the whole grade,” Yaris said. “I’m looking forward to DJ Marshmello’s set most, because I heard that was the best part of last year’s Grad Night.”
Once graduation rehearsals kick off, seniors are encouraged to attend the senior breakfast at 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29 in the cafeteria. In order to attend, students are required to pay $10 online or by cash only at the Student Store window.
“I’m really pumped for senior breakfast because I’ve heard that we sign yearbooks. I know that in the future, I’ll probably forget some of my fun high school memories. But, when I go through my high school yearbook and read through the messages my classmates wrote to me, all my high school memories will start flooding in,” Wu said.  “Senior breakfast will be fun time where we can chill and eat food, while reminiscing on our high school memories.”
