Students and the community were able to help ASB on Sunday, Feb 3, by shopping at the Beverly Hills Market and Deli.

By printing out the flyer that was available on the Facebook page of the event, students were able to help ASB raise money. For each student who presented the flyer when purchasing any product, excluding alcohol and tobacco, the market donated 5 percent of the money to ASB.
ASB held this event for two days in the fall and two days last spring. According to ASB advisor Loren Newman, the event usually raises about $200 each time.“The money we raise will go into the ASB general account and will be used for future events such as Homecoming and Color Wars,” senior ASB commissioner Alex Aftalion said.
ASB has been working with Avanti Interactive, a company interested in helping the school, which presented ASB with the opportunity to collaborate with the Beverly Hills Market.
According to Aftalion the goal of the event was not only to raise money, but also to bring forth an opportunity for ASB to engage with the student body.
“We hope that we will be able to raise a couple hundred dollars between the third and the eighth of February,” Newman said.
Beverly Hills Market has supported local Beverly Hills charities for 25 years and encourages everyone to come out to support ASB.
“I think it is great that the community can know that this is a nice store that is trying to help our schools,” Newman said.
Students will also be given another opportunity to have 5 percent of their purchase donated to ASB next Sunday, Feb. 10 by simply printing the flyer that has been uploaded to the events Facebook page.
