The culinary arts program, taught by chef Rick Leece, is hosting an open house this Thursday, Nov. 14. Students will be cooking and showing their parents and friends what they’ve learned in the program.
“[For this year’s open house] we’ll have a live action pasta station which the students will be working on; a dessert station; cheese and fruits station; caprese station; bruschetta; stuffed mushrooms and more,” Leece said.
Students will work on stations they are assigned for this open house.
“I’ll be preparing the dessert station on the open house. However, I do not have any expectations for the open house,” junior Sammy Lee said.
This year’s open house was sponsored by many donations, including Whole Foods Market, which donated food and platters to the school. In addition, Mountain Gate Country Club has donated to the open house. Students hope that their open house will end with success.
“[This open house] shows what we do and shows our skills,” junior Nadia Maarfi said.
Both students and parents are welcome to the event, which will begin in 5 p.m. to 8p.m. This event will take place in the culinary arts room which is room number 361.
