Watching a snowfall is always a mesmerizing site, whether it is outside of your window or inside a glass jar. A homemade snow globe lets you create an inexpensive winter wonderland of your own and also serves as a great gift for the holidays!
Here’s what you will need:
-Distilled water
-Glass jar with a gasket so it does not leak
-Glycerin
-Glitter or fake snow
-Miniature figurines
-Epoxy (available at your local pharmacy)
-
Flip the jar over and watch the snow trickle down in your new snow globe!
-
Start off by removing the lid from the jar and setting it aside. Take your desired figurine, apply epoxy glue to its base and glue it down to the gasket.
-
Press the figurine down on the gasket for 30 to 60 seconds to make sure it won’t come off when submerged into the water. Tip: To help figurines stay on, sand paper the gasket.
-
While the glue is drying, take the jar and fill it to the top with distilled water.
-
Pour a dash of glycerin into the water.
-
Pour desired amount of glitter and snowflakes into the jar.
-
Take the lid with the figurines and seal the jar. The figurines should be hanging upside down from the top of the jar during this step.
-
Flip the jar over and watch the snow trickle down in your new snow globe!
-
Start off by removing the lid from the jar and setting it aside. Take your desired figurine, apply epoxy glue to its base and glue it down to the gasket.
