The Normans fell to the South Pasadena High School Tigers by a score of 42-9. While kicker David Dolgin booted a field goal to give the Normans a three-point lead in the first quarter, the lead was soon lost and gone. Despite an impressive stat-line produced by fullback Rashad Ysaguirre (over 70 yards rushing and a touchdown), the Normans couldn’t notch a victory.
Junior quarterback Jake Wolken, who started in place of hybrid quarterback/wide receiver/defensive back Michael Massie, sees room to get better.
“I think the biggest thing is playing smart,” he said. “Our biggest problem came from penalties and lining up incorrectly, so if we fix that aspect of the game, I think there will be a lot of improvement.”
The Normans (1-4) will take on El Segundo High School (5-0) in an away contest this Friday at 7 p.m..
