The robotics program has so many opportunities, especially because technology is becoming a bigger part of everybody’s life. The robotics class teaches students how to design and build robots.
The robotics team is starting to do many interesting and exciting things, such as looking into adding AI into their robots.
Senior Ryan Gabbai stated, “We plan to see within the next two years or so to replace our programming and potentially our web development services with AI.”
This shows how robotics is trying to step up and improve by putting AI in their robots to make them better, smarter and advanced. When Gabbai was asked what the most important thing to succeed in robotics is, he stated, “In order for you to rise to the ranks, you got to make friends and also be able to lead your fellow students.”
The team competes in robotics competitions about once every year.
Senior Jake Rubel, the vice president, said, “My favorite part of robotics is definitely the competitions, more specifically, the overnight ones.”
Having competitions is important because they give the students a chance to show what they’ve been working on, plus going to overnight competitions can bring students closer and more comfortable with each other.
Robotics teacherJohn Castle started learning about robotics nine years ago and has a lot of experience with it now.
Castle said, “Robotics is very challenging; we put in a lot of time, it’s a lot of hard work. But at the same time were a team just like any other team.”
Because robotics is a team together and like a family, the students become bonded together which helps them out because it can help with challenges and having stronger leadership. In general, the robotics program is a very fun and diverse class with lots to offer.
