The second ASB Food Fair took place this week on the third-floor patio. The stations operated were Crumbl Cookie by the freshmen, Prince Street Pizza by the sophomores, In-N-Out by the juniors and BobaTime by the seniors.
Many students came up to the patio, enticed by the smells of food and the sound of loud excitement. The event is run by ASB and gives students a chance to buy food, with each grade using the profits for their prom.
ASB Director Nickolas Henggeler explained how the event keeps growing. “We started the Food Fair back in 2023, and it has gotten bigger every year,” he said.
He shared, “Thanks to our principal, Ms. [Loan] Sriruksa, we now have additional card reader systems.” This has made it easier to accept payment and raise more funds.
ASB used to do one Food Fair per semester, but now they do two because “the more money we raise, the nicer our prom will be”.
Freshman Noa Granitz said, “There were very long lines, and there was a lot of selection to choose from,” she explained.
Her favorite station was Crumbl Cookie. “They had three different cookies, and I tried all of them.”
She also said, “We shared a bunch of cookies and rated them out of ten. It was really fun.”
When asked what stood out most about the fair, she replied, “How the fair kind of connects everybody.”
Sophomore Noah Rahmani worked at the Prince Street Pizza station. He said they chose this restaurant because “We can get large boxes filled with pizzas quickly.”
Rahmani said, “I like seeing people smile when you hand them food”.
Students from different grades noticed different things at the fair. Sophomore Narin Turac said she was excited to get food and went straight to Crumbl Cookie. “It was my first time trying Crumbl, and it was so good.”
Freshman Arshavin Zawadi Sellers focused more on drinks. He bought the lychee boba because “they almost never serve drinks here, and I needed something fast.”
This quarter’s Food Fair was great! Students enjoyed the food, ASB raised money and the school came together. Everyone is already waiting for the next fair.
